How did it all start anyway?

The beautiful Okanagan has been home for quite some time now... 6 years. I have lived in several places, but this one I picked. Quebec, New Brunswick, Ontario... They all have their charms, but Kelowna is home; I chose this place for its nature, its pace, its climate, its people. It was time for me to escape the big city brouhaha.

Then why on the move again?

Evacuated from my condo since last summer's fire, I have been living a kind of nomad life, not feeling any real attachment to the space I live in. As it stands today, my condo will not be ready for at least another 6 to 8 months. Sight. I sure have an awesome job, working in my home office with one of the most beautiful lake views in town, but nonetheless, it happened again, and I had to go!

Opportunity knocked at my door in the form of an 8 months work contract, to do what I love, in Paris. How can the cheese, wine, and travel lover in me resist to this? NOT! À moi l'aventure!

But leaving the Okanagan is not that easy... Since it truly sank in that my departure was near, I have been living the "Okanagan Life" to its fullest even more, all while working like a mad woman. On my way back from a visit to Katerine in Revelstoke about a week ago, I had a little melt down: leaving my beautiful mountains, my peace and quiet. Thank you Lorne for driving and letting me be in my head for a little while.

Ski, board, golf, swim, hike, bike, run, coffee, dine, visit...

I will sure miss my friends, but will also retie with old ones. Sophie, Michel, Vincent; j'arrive!

The countdown is on: 14 days left before departure.
